阅读测试题的编写技巧 

1、  试题中使用的词汇和句法应尽量简单，其语言难度不能超过语篇的语言难度。

2、  试题的措辞不能照搬文章中的原话。

Early the next morning I received yet another letter from Roger, informing me that he was still confined to his bed with the same mysterious illness and urging me to come to his aid. I set forth at once for Portsmouth, arriving shortly before dusk. I went with all possible haste to High Street and thence to the familiar old house, which appeared in no way altered since the days of my previous visit. Yet upon entering, I was amazed to find its dark, cavernous rooms completely deserted!

When the writer found Roger’s house deserted, he felt ________.

A. angry          B. relived        C. amazed             D. happy

Amaze一词同时出现在阅读文章和试题中，不妥。该试题可以修改为：

The writer mentioned his surprise at ________.

A.      receiving a letter from Roger

B.      learning of Roger’s illness

C.      seeing the appearance of Roger’s house

D.     finding that Roger was at home

3、试题测试的应该是对文章的理解，那些依靠常识就能正确回答的问题，或选择项明显违反逻辑或相互矛盾的题目应予取消。

例如下题：

We may infer from this paragraph that people ________.

1. all need the same kind of rest
2. do not usually need rest
3. rest much more than they should
4. do not all rest in the same way

上题选项B明显不合逻辑，选项A和D明显相互矛盾，善于猜题的考生就知道A和D中有一个是答案。

建议将该试题修改为：

The central idea of the paragraph is that people ________.

1. cannot maintain good health without proper rest
2. do not all rest precisely the same way
3. tend to get more rest than they actually need
4. can rest better after they have had exercise

4、    多项选择题的提干应该是一个意义较为完整的问题，让考生知道从哪些方面去思考问题。如下面的试题就为劣质题。John _________.

A.      obviously liked what he heard      B.became angry upon hearing Mary’s words

C.didn’t understand what he was told     D.ridiculed Mary’s ideas
