Hi Teacher
Updated date again.
Pearson is pleased to invite you to attend the latest Professional Development Webinar on November 8th 12 noon HK time (1pm Tokyo). Professional Development Webinars allow teachers to join events aimed at developing teaching skills and methodologies. In addition Pearson Professional Development Webinars allow teachers to ask presenters questions and get immediate feedback.
Theme: How to create effective rubrics for assessment
Abstract: With the increasing demand for accountability in assessment, teachers are relying on rubrics to provide a practical and objective way to grade assignments and provide feedback. The quality of the rubrics is therefore important. Do the rubrics reflect the construct of proficiency we want and are the grades reliable? This webinar will consider the strengths and weaknesses of various types of rubrics, and how to create a rubric that reflects your target construct. Current research related to measures of reliability will be discussed, as well as issues related to self-assessment and rubrics.
Presenter: Julia Williams, Asst Director for ESL Courses, Waterloo University, Ontario, Canada
